Below are just a few highlights of train portion of our rocky mountain rail tours experience (itineraries are reversed if traveling in the other direction):

Day 1: Today you depart Banff National Park for the beautiful British Columbia interior. Pass through the Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. Experience a gorgeous day of rocky mountain rail tours scenery as you travel past stunning glaciers, snow capped mountains and numerous tunnels. You'll follow the scenic shoreline of Shuswap Lake as the train approaches Kamloops. Disembark the train for time to explore and overnight in the town of Kamloops.

Day 2: All aboard the rocky mountain rail tours train for final leg of your journey. Continue your journey west into the Fraser Canyon. At Hell's Gate, watch water torrent past the canyon walls, then watch the dramatic change in terrain from Rockies to fertile fruit country of the Fraser Valley. ALTERNATE ROUTE: Another option on Good Earth trips is to experience a "Rockies Only" rail tour from Banff to Jasper (or Jasper to Banff). 
Day 2 of Rockies Only: Back onboard the Rocky Mountaineer you'll follow the Thompson River through rolling plateaus into the snowy peaks of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Pass by Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3954 meters (12,972 ft), before entering Jasper National Park. Arrive in the beautiful mountain town of Jasper in late afternoon.
