CANADA TRAVEL TIPS

The following information is available as a reference tool for Good Earth’s clients who are planning travel to Canada, but is not guaranteed to be accurate. For the latest information on Canada travel, entry requirements, Visa’s for specific countries, consulates and embassies, or general information about Canada please visit the Canadian Tourism Commission's website.

TRAVELERS FROM EUROPE
European passport holders do not require a visa for Canada travel. All you need is a valid passport, a return ticket and sufficient funds to support yourself and your dependents during your stay in Canada.

European visitors to Canada who wish to also visit the United States must possess valid passports to be admitted; residents of Portugal are further required to have a visa.

U.S. CITIZENS & PERMANENT RESIDENTS
Nov. 27/06 Update:  As of January 23, 2007, the U.S. government will be requiring that each U.S. citizen and permanent resident leaving the country or returning to the United States by air or sea must carry a valid U.S. passport or other secure travel document such as a NEXUS Air card when used at a NEXUS Air kiosk.

For detailed information about obtaining or renewing your U.S. passport, visit the U.S. Department of State Passport Services Office, or access U.S. passport application services from the United States Postal Service.

NON-AMERICAN CITIZENS VISITING FROM THE U.S.
Temporary residents of the United States (anyone who carries a Temporary Resident Card, Form 1-688, or Employment Authorization Card, 1-688A or 1-688B) must carry a passport and may also require a visa for Canada travel depending on their country of citizenship.

Citizens of other countries who wish to travel to Canada through the United States must also carry a valid passport and may require a visa, which they should obtain from a Canadian Embassy or Consulate outside Canada. Those in this category should check with an office of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service before they enter Canada (www.canadainternational.gc.ca).

TRAVELERS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
International visitors may require a visa to enter or transit Canada for travel. To see whether you require a visa, visit the travel Canada site (www.canadainternational.gc.ca) for more information on visa requirements.
