UPGRADE ACTIVITIES
These premium selections have an additional charge if you
want to substitute one for a Classic Activity. An Upgrade Activity
typically features an enhanced service or experience such as
a privately guided hike or dogsled tour, a glacier landing on
a Cessna flight-seeing excursion, or a luxury spa experience
at a world-class spa.

CHALLENGE LEVELS
It makes sense that you’ll have a better trip if you select
the right activity for your interests, fitness level and desire
for adventure. At Good Earth, we are dedicated to helping you
make the best choices. That’s why we’ve assigned each activity
a Challenge Level, reflecting how much physical fitness is involved
for that activity. We also take into account possible psychological
challenges that may be present in certain situations such as
exposed heights while walking along the top of a steep ridge,
or very confined spaces while underground caving. Wheelchair
accessibility will be noted on applicable activities in the
detailed descriptions. Don’t forget that Trip Specialists are
always available to personally assist you in making choices.

-
EASY
– these are activities that require limited or no athletic
fitness to participate. They may include activities with
an interpretive or educational focus, ones that include
transportation as a good portion of the experience, or those
that are pampering in nature.
The Traveler: I enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery,
but I can’t say I really want a work out. Today I feel like
I want some beautiful scenery, relaxing physical or mental
stimulation...followed by a nice cold drink!

-
MODERATE
– these are activities for the moderately ambitious who
hold a reasonable level of fitness and enjoy some physical
challenge in a safe and fun environment. They include activities
like hiking where you feel comfortable walking 6.5 to 12
km (4-7 miles, 3-5 hours) over rolling and some moderate
elevation gain of 300-600 m (1000 – 2000 ft); OR you look
forward to 20 to 35 km (12-20 miles) biking on gently rolling
terrain, with a few longer climbs to visit special sites
or take in spectacular vistas.
The Traveler: I walk or swim a couple times a week and usually
do something physical on the weekend. I want to enjoy a
good refreshing hike, but today I’m not interested in bursting
a lung.

ADRENALIN
– these activities are geared to those seeking the most
adventure and who are ready to face the physical and emotional
challenges posed by varying terrain. Hikers, make your dreams
come true by “bagging a peak”, walking 12-20 km (7-12 miles
per day (over 900 m or 3000ft elevation gain) on your privately
guided hike. Invigorate your spirit with full day of exploring
INSIDE the Rockies on a cave tour, or ignite your sense
of adventure with the incredible adrenalin rush of whitewater
rafting on the Kicking Horse River.
The Traveler: I work out quite regularly, and I want to
get all the decent hiking or thrilling adventure that I
can. Food, culture and relaxing are important, but today
I want a challenge!
